Southwest Fresno pursuit ends with crash
A southwest Fresno gang member was arrested after a pursuit on Kearney Boulevard that ended near Kerman, police reported.
Sgt. Brian Valles said officers from the Violent Crime Impact Team were patrolling near Fruit and Strother avenues Wednesday night and tried to pull over a car for a vehicle code violation.
The car sped west on Kearney Boulevard with police in cars and a helicopter in pursuit. The driver, identified as Nathaniel Brewer, 32, crashed near Rolinda Avenue and was taken into custody after running from the scene.
Valles said officers found a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the car. Brewer was booked on firearms charges.
