One person dead following shooting in Fresno County, deputies say

A person was detained Saturday following a deadly shooting near Kerman.

The shooting happened around 5:50 p.m. at West Jensen and South Yuba avenues, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies arrived and found a person with a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.

Detectives are investigating to determine what led up to the shooting, deputies said.

The person believed to be the shooter has been detained, spokesman Tony Botti said.

No other details were immediately available.
