Three injured in crash as driver flees in Fresno County. He was wanted, deputy says

A suspect fleeing a traffic stop crashed into another car north of the Tower District, injuring the occupants, Fresno County deputies said on Sunday.

Deputies attempted to pull over a driver headed south on Wishon Avenue about 9:30 p.m. before the male driver sped off, Lt. Jake Jensen said.

The pursuit did not last long as the driver crashed into another car near Clinton Avenue, deputies said.

Three people in the other car, which was going east on Clinton, were injured and transported to a local hospital, Jensen said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

The driver was sought by authorities on felony warrants and was driving with an expired registration, Jensen said. There were also burglary tools in the car.

The driver was also taken to the hospital with a complaint of pain, deputies said. He will be arrested after his recovery.

Officers investigate a scene near Wishon and Clinton avenues on Sunday, March 6, 2023, after a man fled police and crashed into others, causing injuries, Fresno police said.
