Fresno police arrest two on weapons charges; one had warrant
Fresno police on Monday arrested two felons with gang affiliations, one of whom was involved in a recent shooting.
Domenek Greenberry, 18, and Donald Phelps, 22, were pulled over by police patrolling the area of Shields and Weber avenues because of recent shootings and gang activity. Officers stopped the vehicle because Greenberry was involved in a recent shooting and had an active warrant for handgun possession.
Upon his arrest, Greenberry said he and Phelps had three loaded guns in the car. A search turned up three handguns and extra ammunition. One of the guns was reported stolen.
Greenberry and Phelps admitted to possession of the firearms, police said. They were booked into Fresno County Jail on weapons charges and possession of stolen property.
