Body of homeless woman found in vineyard. Was she murdered? Sheriff seeks answers

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives on Wednesday appealed for help from friends of Brittany Monique Degrise, whose body was found in an orchard south of Easton.

Degrise, 31, may have been murdered, according to the sheriff’s office.

Her body was found late Tuesday afternoon between Manning and Dinuba avenues on Orange Avenue, near a vineyard, according to spokesman Tony Botti.

He said there is evidence Degrise died at the hand of another but did not elaborate further.

Degrise is believed to have been homeless and estranged from family members. She was known to frequent an area near Tulare and First streets.

Detectives said they would like to know the last time any of her friends were in contact with her.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Jose Diaz at 559-600-8024, or to remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
