Four people were arrested and charged with shooting a 14-year-old boy in the face Tuesday night in southwest Fresno, police said.

Fresno police detective Brian Pierce said the victim survived the shooting. Police took statements from several witnesses and issued a city-wide broadcast of the suspect’s vehicle description.

Patrol officers eventually located the vehicle and arrested four occupants: D’edward Tucker, 19, Jaishawn Young, 21, and two 15-year-old boys. A search of the vehicle yielded three guns, one of which is believed to have been used in the shooting, Pierce said.

Pierce said one of the 15-year-old suspects confessed to shooting the other boy. Detectives learned the two were involved in an altercation about three weeks ago.

On Thursday, the Fresno County District Attorney’s office filed attempted murder and weapons charges with gang enhancements against the 15-year-old who allegedly confessed. The other three suspects were charged with weapons, assault and gang-related crimes.
