Fresno County Jail inmate dies after fall in the shower

A Fresno County inmate died Tuesday after he apparently slipped and fell in the shower, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Spokesman Tony Botti said that George Dominguez, 52, of Fresno, was found lying on the floor. He was breathing and had a pulse. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death. The sheriff’s office does not suspect foul play.

Dominguez was booked into the jail on July 3 on a felony drug possession charge.
