One dead, two injured in overnight Fresno shooting. How some victims got to hospital

One man was killed and two men rushed into surgery after an early morning shooting Saturday in Fresno west of Highway 99.

Fresno Police received multiple calls about gunfire around 2:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of West McKinley Avenue, near Hughes Avenue and Highway 99, said Lt. Charlie Chamalbide.

Two men were taken from the scene in private vehicles to Community Regional Medical Center downtown. A third was taken by ambulance.

Two were rushed into surgery with gunshot wounds, and reported to be in “critical but stable” condition, Chamalbide said.

No other information about the victims or what led to the shooting was available. Detectives are investigating.
