Man arrested in shooting near Fulton Mall

An Eastside Bulldog gang member is in custody in connection with a drive-by shooting, Fresno police reported.

Sgt. Jerardo Chamalbide identified the suspect as Anthony Jimenez, 19. Chamalbide said charges of assault with a deadly weapon were filed against Jimenez on Tuesday in connection with a shooting June 23 near Fulton Mall.

Chamalbide said the victim was walking when he was approached by three men in a car who shouted, “Fresno Bulldogs.” A gunman in the back of the car then shouted “this is our hood” and fired several times.

The victim was struck in the arm as he tried to escape.

After Jimenez was identified, he was arrested June 26 in the 1300 block of West Norwich Avenue.
