Police identify man killed in Fresno drive-by shooting. Cops looking for information

Police on Monday identified the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting outside a southeast Fresno home.

Police said Bernardo Yniguez, 40, was outside a home near Ninth Street and Hamilton Avenue with his fiancee about 7:45 p.m. Friday. The home is southwest of Cedar and Butler avenues.

The fiancee told officers she did not recognize the shooter, who fired multiple rounds from a white sedan in motion, police said. She was not struck.

Yniguez was struck multiple times, police said. The ShotSpotter recorded four rounds were fired, according to police.

First responders performed life-saving efforts, but Yniguez was pronounced dead at Community Regional Medical Center, police said.

It was unclear how many suspects police sought. The suspect vehicle, described as a white sedan, was last seen driving off westbound on Hamilton.

It was the 41st homicide of 2022 in Fresno.

Anyone with information can remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
