Woman badly injured from hit-and-run collision in Fresno. Witnesses described the suspect

Police are looking for a man who allegedly caused a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision in northeast Fresno that sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries.

The collision happened just before 8 p.m. at East Bullard Avenue and North Angus Street, where a gray Kia sedan struck a tree and the woman inside had to be extricated by the Fresno Fire Department.

The woman was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and was in critical but stable condition.

Fresno Police Lt. Sean Biggs said a man in a black BMW sedan was driving recklessly through the area and tried to get between vehicles going westbound on Bullard Avenue.

“Don’t know if the vehicle came into contact with the Kia,” he said. “But at some point in time, two vehicles came into contact with one another causing the collision.”

Witnesses told officers that the man was wearing a green shirt and green shorts and fled westbound on Bullard toward Fresno State before running in a northwest direction, Biggs said.

The street was closed for several hours as officers investigate the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
