School employee sent sexual messages to 12-year-old student, Fresno detectives say

A 22-year-old Fresno school employee was arrested for a misdemeanor act including sending sexual messages to a 12-year-old, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Described as a noontime assistant at Storey Elementary School, Kevin Juarez was arrested and released with a citation to appear in court after being accused of misdemeanor annoying or molesting a minor, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

He worked on the Fresno Unified School District campus during the lunch hour to supervise children while teachers take a break, the release said.

Someone reported Juarez was having inappropriate conversations with a 12-year-old student, the release said. Detectives learned he sent messages of a sexual nature to the girl through a social media app, the sheriff’s office said.

FUSD confirmed Juarez worked on the Storey campus during the school year but declined to say anything further citing the ongoing investigation, Communications Director Diana Diaz said in an email.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked by the sheriff’s office to call Sgt. Ericka Rascon at 559-600-8144.
