Update: Report of armed person at Riverdale school discounted; Fresno deputies clear scene

Fipps Primary school in Riverdale was locked down Thursday morning in response to a report that there was an armed person in the area, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Spokesman Tony Botti said deputies checked the report that someone might have been armed with a hunting rifle near the school at 21320 S. Feland Ave.

Tuesday afternoon, deputies cleared the scene, finding no suspect.
