Sheriff’s Office investigating stabbing at home in rural Fresno County. A woman died

A woman was found stabbed to death in the rural town of Huron in what is believed to be a case of domestic violence, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

The death happened Saturday morning, with Huron police responding to a report that someone had been stabbed at a home on Palmer Avenue. The person later died, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s detectives took over once the incident was determined to be a homicide.

A man who is known to the female victim has been identified as a person of interest in the homicide investigation, sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said Saturday evening. The man is hospitalized with injuries, Botti said.

The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time.
