Man arrested for stabbing father to death in Tarpey Village home, Fresno deputies say

A man is in custody after a family squabble ended with him stabbing his father to death, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Deputies arrested Brice Robinson, 18, of Fresno after the stabbing at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Fresno’s Tarpey Village neighborhood, the sheriff’s office said.

The incident at a Sunnyside Avenue home just south of Ashlan Avenue was reported to 911 as a family disturbance, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies arrived on scene and found 60-year-old Brian Robinson suffering from stab wounds. He later died at Community Regional Medical Center, according to deputies.

The motive remains unclear.

Brice Robinson is being held on suspicion of murder in Fresno County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

The homicide unit has investigated nine homicides this year, deputies said. Seven occurred in the sheriff’s office jurisdiction and two took place in other cities.

Anyone with additional information about the investigation can call Detective Gary Haslam at 559-600-8209. You may also contact Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org.
