Man escapes after firing shots at a Fresno State-area apartment, near a university event
A man who opened fire Saturday morning on an apartment complex near Ninth Street and Bulldog Lane eluded officers who searched the surrounding area, a police spokesman said.
The shots were reportedly fired shortly before 10 a.m. Police arrived and searched “the entire area,” according to the spokesman, but did not apprehend the gunman.
The incident took place as the Fresno State Bulldog Block Party was getting underway across the street at Bulldog Stadium.
During the block party, Fresno State fans were able to take part in an all-day athletics-oriented event that includes a spring football preview and a Fresno State baseball game.
