Two suspects arrested in shooting that nearly killed Fresno girl, 10. Police looking for third

Two Fresno teens were arrested for a shooting that ended with a 10-year-old girl suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, police said Friday.

An unnamed 17-year-old and Kai Domingo-McPeters, 18, were arrested Thursday at two different locations after being accused of firing the bullet April 6 that struck the girl in the femoral artery in her leg, police said.

The girl was not the intended target and was on a playground at 7:30 p.m. that day at the Park West Apartments, located south of the intersection of Marks and Shaw avenues, police said.

Officers responded to the scene and said they did not find a victim, but moments later they received notice that a girl had been admitted to Community Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

Police said there was an argument between two people at the apartment complex, and at least one suspect began shooting.

Police said the little girl was initially in critical condition after getting shot in the legs. She was taken into surgery is expected to survive, police said.

Anyone with information on the third suspect may share it and remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP.
