Man stabbed to death in Fresno apartment identified
A man who was stabbed to death in a central Fresno apartment early Monday morning was identified as Curtis Bizzell, the Fresno County Coroner’s office said.
Fresno police Lt. Mark Salazar said police arrived at an apartment complex at San Pablo and Vassar avenues just after 4 a.m. to find the mortally injured man. The call was originally reported as an accidental stabbing, but the evidence pointed to homicide, Salazar said.
Salazar said officers arrested Bizzell’s on- and-off girlfriend, who was at the scene, on suspicion of stabbing Bizzell. She was later released, but Salazar said the department is working to secure more evidence.
The couple had no documented history of domestic violence, Salazar said.
