An 18-year-old who allegedly took selfies with a loaded gun outside a Fresno mall late Tuesday afternoon was booked into Fresno County jail.

Fresno police received a call around 4:20 p.m. from Fashion Fair Mall security, indicating they saw a man outside the mall taking pictures of himself with what looked to be a gun, Lt. Brian Valles said.

The man and two females entered the mall, and security told officers where they were when they made contact. The man confirmed to officers that he had a loaded firearm on him. He was detained without incident, Valles said.

Officers took the man’s gun, which turned out to be a loaded unregistered ghost gun.

He was booked into jail on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a firearm in a public place. His identity was not immediately released.

The two females were not charged.
