Bartender shuts down Fresno club after fight. Then shots rang out, police say

Fresno police officers rushed to a bar in east-central Fresno early Monday in response to a report of multiple gunshots.

The incident took place at The Next Bar, on the northeast corner of East Shields and North Cedar avenues, about 1:30 a.m.

Police spokeswoman Diana Trueba Vega said there was a fight in the bar, and the bartender shut the business down and ordered everyone out. The disturbance continued in the parking lot and someone fired multiple gunshots.

There were not reported injuries and everyone was gone when officers arrived. Officers did find shell casings in the lot.
