Overnight incident forces temporary closure of Fresno’s Bollywood Indian food restaurant

Fans of the northeast Fresno restaurant Bollywood Indian Street Food received bad news Saturday morning when they learned that the eatery was closed due to an overnight burglary.

“We will be closed today due to a burglary that happened this morning,” the business posted on Instagram. “Sorry for any inconvenience.”

The restaurant, at Cedar and Herndon avenues, opened two years ago near John’s Incredible Pizza. It’s a fast-food restaurant where customers order at the counter and workers call out a number when it’s ready.

The eatery venerates the Indian movie-making industry, and Indian music videos play on TV screens. The chefs went to culinary school in India and later worked in the United Kingdom.

It was not known when Bollywood would reopen.
