Police find man lying in middle of the street after a shooting in central Fresno

A man was hospitalized after a shooting Thursday night in central Fresno.

According to Lt Brian Pierce, officers around 9 p.m. received a shot spotter activation of five rounds fired in the 2600 block of Robinson Avenue, near the intersection of Pleasant and Dakota Avenues.

As officers were en route, they received reports of a shooting victim in the area.

Officers arrived and found a man in his 30s lying in the street with at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he reported to still be alive but his condition was unknown.

No suspect information was made immediately available.
