A Mexican restaurant that’s earned rave reviews in northwest Fresno was burglarized.

The owners of Sabor Cocina Latina & Bar said they discovered Friday morning that their restaurant had been broken into with the thief/thieves taking electronics, cash, liquor bottles and cases of wine.

“We were heartbroken when we saw the mess left behind,” owners Santos and Alberto posted on social media. “We understand that everything stolen is replaceable.

“But it hurts because we have worked so hard for the things we have for some one to just taken them and cause damage that now we also have to fix.”

The restaurant, which is located near the intersection of Brawley Avenue and North Figarden Drive, has been open since 2015 and generated many five-star reviews since. On Yelp, its average rating is 4 1/2 stars.

In 2020, Sabor Cocina Latina & Bar introduced new dishes from Central and South America.

After many years of planning and working two jobs at a time, the owners sold their home to invest in the restaurant, according to a bio posted on the restaurant website.

The owners posted on social media that, though the restaurant was burglarized, they had kept the restaurant open Friday night.

“We can’t let something like this stop us,” the owners wrote.
