Man fired on a Fresno officer. Now, police release video of incident and suspect
Police on Monday released a video of a shooting on Aug. 17, when an officer’s car was hit by gunfire in central Fresno.
The sergeant was investigating a report of a man armed with a firearm who had fired on a truck driver near North Cedar and East Shields avenues about 3:30 a.m.
As the officer drove south on Cedar, the passenger side window of his patrol SUV was blown out by two bullets that also struck his dashboard. Police believe eight rounds were fired. The officer was hit by glass fragments.
The suspect is believed to be about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, 20 to 30 years old, and about 150 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and and oversize white T-shirt, as well as a black baseball cap with some type of logo. He is also believed to have a large tattoo on his right hand as well as another tattoo on his elbow and forearm.
