Fresno police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred just moments apart Friday night.

According to Lt. Anthony DeWall, the first shooting occurred just before 8:30 p.m. at a Vagabond Inn at East and Garrett avenues.

DeWall said a man staying in the hotel was shot in the shoulder by an unknown suspect. No witnesses were around to see the shooting, but officers believed the shot came from the hotel room across from the victim’s room.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

The second shooting took place just moments later in the area of Cedar and Alamos avenues.

DeWall said that an elderly man was walking in the area when he was shot in the wrist.

According to DeWall it appears to be a random shooting and may may have been an accident. No witnesses were found and the victim was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
