Farmersville woman arrested after allegedly stealing more than $5 million from Fresno man
A Farmersville woman who allegedly siphoned more than $5 million from an elderly Fresno man was arrested Tuesday, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office said.
Christina Alvarado, 50, is charged with one count of theft from an elder or dependent adult, two counts of identity theft, one count of felony forgery and a white collar crime enhancement for committing a crime in excess of $500,000.
Alvarado used the victim’s accounts on more than 120 fraudulent check and ATM transactions in California over the course of several years, the DA’s Office said.
If convicted of all charges and enhancements, Alvarado faces a maximum sentence of nine years and eight months in state prison.
Alvarado was in custody Tuesday evening at the Fresno County Jail with bail set at $1 million.
