Pedestrian killed after being struck by three cars southeast of Fresno. One driver is wanted

Merced

A man was killed just after midnight Thursday after he was struck by three cars in southeast of Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.

But authorities are searching for the first driver, as they say that person fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.

CHP says the man was struck by the first vehicle around 1:10 a.m. as he walked along the right lane of westbound Jensen Avenue, just east of Armstrong Avenue.

Moments later, he was struck by two additional cars, although those drivers stayed at the scene and will not face charges.

CHP officers gathered evidence from the scene and a toxicology test was requested to determine if the pedestrian was under the influence.

Anyone with information on the first car that struck the man is asked to contact the CHP, 559-262-0400. Tips are confidential and you can remain anonymous.
