A motorcyclist died after crash; Fresno police seek driver of BMW who fled
A motorcyclist died Thursday night in a hit-and-run collision in central Fresno, police reported. The driver of a BMW who fled the scene remains at large.
Sgt. Jeff La Blue said the crash took place about 11:30 p.m. at East Shields and North Del Mar avenues, as the rider was eastbound on Shields with the right-of-way, when the BMW was driven north on Del Mar and the driver pulled into the path of the motorcycle.
La Blue said the car was abandoned on Del Mar and East Andrews Avenue.
The rider was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. He was identified Saturday as Jacob Fuentes, 28, of Fresno.
