A man who Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies say robbed the same bank in Easton three times in crimes going back five years is in custody after his luck ran out Tuesday.

Ignacio Lopez, 36, of Fresno was booked on 18 felonies after a traffic stop on Clovis Avenue and Kings Canyon Road. Bail was set at $710,000.

The WestAmerica bank on Elm Avenue was robbed July 9 after a masked man walked in, brandished a .357 caliber handgun and demanded cash.. Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the Dan Wesson revolver found in the car Tuesday matched the description of the crime weapon. Botti said the same bank was robbed on Jan. 23, 2019 and September 2015 and detectives believe the bandit in all three crimes is Lopez.

Lopez may have accomplices in the robberies, Botti added. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
