High on pot, he crashed into a girl’s bedroom, knocking her out of bed, Hanford police say

A driver who crashed into bedroom in Hanford Wednesday night, knocking a 17-year-old girl out of her bed, was booked on charges of driving under the influence of marijuana, police reported.

The driver was identified as Antonio Mendoza, 24.

Police say the crash took place about 10:30 p.m., as Mendoza slammed into the home in the 1300 block of Canyon Creek Street, where officers found major structural damage to the home. Both the girl and Mendoza were taken to the hospital, where the girl was treated for minor injuries and Mendoza for more serious injuries, before being booked on $50,000 bail.
