Man arrested on suspicion of murder at Hanford home

A man is in custody on suspicion of murder at a home in Hanford, but few details were available on what led up to the killing.

Joseph Guzman, 27, was arrested in connection with the death of Sam Carson, according to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched Friday to a home in the 1800 block of Hardcastle Drive regarding a medical aid. But when officers arrived, they found Carson dead.

Detectives found leads, including video evidence, that they said identified Guzman as the suspect.

Guzman was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 600 block of Miller Street in Corcoran and booked into the Kings County Jail on a no bail arrest warrant alleging first-degree murder.

Cause of death was pending an autopsy by the Sheriff’s Coroner Division.
