Man repairing car on a Fresno street is shot in the head, police say

A man who was working on a car on a central Fresno street was shot in the head, police said.

According to Lt. Bill Dooley, at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday officers received reports of a shooting in the area of Fresno Street and White Avenue. Officers arrived and found the victim with a single gunshot wound to his head.

The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Dooley said witnesses told officers that the victim was repairing a car on the street when he got in an argument with another man. The two began to argue in the street when the suspect pulled a gun and began firing. No suspect information was available.

Police were checking a nearby business for surveillance video of the shooting.
