Short pursuit leads to seventh DUI arrest for Madera man
Madera police arrested Irvin Ramirez on DUI charges after a short pursuit late Friday night.
It is, according to the department, the seventh DUI arrest for Ramirez, who was already on Post Release Community Supervision for DUI.
Ramirez was observed driving at a high rate of speed on a city street and passing vehicles on the left. He was pulled over after a short pursuit by Madera Police, which has additional officers on patrol and on the lookout for impaired drivers through the Memorial Day weekend.
A DUI investigation conducted after the traffic stop found Ramirez to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The 30-year-old Ramirez was booked into the Madera County jail at 11:43 p.m. on several charges – evading a peace officer while operating a vehicle, reckless driving, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol above .08, driving while license is suspended, violation of post release community supervision and DUI with three priors.
