Wanted man breaks leg fleeing US marshals in Fresno
A man being pursued by US marshals and Fresno anti-gang officers suffered a compound fracture of his leg Tuesday when he fell while fleeing, police reported.
The incident took place shortly after noon near East Weldon Avenue and North First Street in Fresno’s Mayfair District.
Fresno police Capt. Joe Alvarez said Kevin Byrd, who was sought on a felony probation warrant, was found driving near Highway 41 and McKinley Avenue. Byrd sped away from officers, but abandoned the car in the district. He was attempting to scale the fence when he fell. Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to the hospital.
