Police spokesman Jeff La Blue said the shooting took place during a disturbance between Garcia and other occupants at a home on the 900 block of North Farris Avenue, south of Olive Avenue and west of Palm Avenue. Multiple people called police and the department’s ShotSpotter system also alerted to gunfire.

Officers who arrived at the home at 9:54 p.m. learned that a shooting victim was dropped off at Community Regional Medical Center. Garcia died there of a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Detectives are asking for help in their investigation and want anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
