Visalia couple arrested after flare fired in a Walmart
A couple was arrested Saturday in connection with the shooting of a flare gun into the garden section of a Walmart earlier in March, Visalia police said.
Officers were called to the store at 1819 East Noble Ave. on March 10, according to Sgt. Mike Verissimo. The officers received reports that a couple had fired the flare gun into the garden department as they drove away after a confrontation with employees.
Employees previously had stopped the couple from stealing from the store, Verissimo said.
The pair were identified as Miguel Ayalla, 38, and Amanda Jaramillo, 37.
Both suspects were found at a residence in the area of 300 N. Hall St. at 9:55 a.m Saturday, Verissimo said. Ayalla ran from the scene and was apprehended by a police dog, according to police.
The suspects were booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and arson.
