Car-to-car shooting in Sanger leaves one wounded, police say

A man in his 20s was wounded in a car-to-car shooting Saturday morning in Sanger, police said.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Bethel Avenue.

The victim was a passenger inside a Nissan Altima that was traveling northbound when shots came from another car that was headed southbound, Sgt. Brandon Coles said.

The victims got away from the suspect’s vehicle and sought assistance. The suspect’s vehicle drove off. It is unclear how many people were in the suspect vehicle.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

“We’re still trying to find the reason why this occurred, maybe a mixture of things,” Coles said.

Coles said the victims are not gang members.

The shooting is under investigation.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Sanger Police at 559-875-8522.
