A Valentine’s Day heist: Three Fresno convenience stores robbed at gunpoint
The Fresno Police Department is investigating three Valentine’s Day robberies of convenience stores in the city.
Detectives are looking into similarities to determine if the robberies are related, police said.
The first robbery happened at 11:30 a.m. at the Valero gas station at 7264 N. Blackstone Ave. Surveillance video shows two men armed with handguns demand money from the register. One hit the cashier in the head before both robbers fled from the store on foot, police said.
About seven hours later but just a few hundred feet away from the first store, a man entered the Chevron gas station at 7216 N. Blackstone Ave. just before 6:30 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk, police said. He reportedly had a handgun and took the money and ran east.
About an hour later, the Evergreen Market on Elm and North avenues in southwest Fresno was robbed. Two suspects armed with handguns demanded money and alcohol, police said. They ran out of the store with the loot.
No one was seriously injured in any of the robberies.
Anyone with information is asked to call Fresno Police at 559-621-7000.
