Shots fired near Fresno school; no one injured, arriving police report

Fresno police sped to Martin Luther King Elementary School on Friday afternoon after the department’s ShotSpotter system recorded multiple gunshots had been fired.

Officers investigating the incident reported finding multiple shell casings in a grassy area adjacent to the school, at East Florence and South Bardell Avenues. But it appeared that no one was struck and there didn’t initially appear to be any damage to nearby buildings.
