Man arrested for $1.2 million worth of marijuana plants growing inside home

A Fresno man was arrested Friday after sheriff’s discovered over a million dollars of marijuana plants being grown illegally inside his home.

Jiang Yunquan, 48, was arrested after deputies served a search warrant at his house at in the 4900 block of East White Avenue.

Deputies found 1,263 marijuana plants part of an illegal grow operation. The street value for the plants was estimated at a little over $1.2 million.

Yunquan was been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of marijuana cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales.

California law allows adults who are at least 21 years old to have no more than six plants inside their residence.

But in Fresno County, planting, cultivation or harvesting on the grounds of a private residence is prohibited.
