Suspects arrested for allegedly killing Tulare County man who was working in front yard

Three suspects in the death of a Tulare County man have been arrested eight months after he was gunned down in his front yard.

A major gang operation led to the arrests of suspects Edward Moran, 27, Cristian Bravo, 19, and a 17-year-old male for allegedly killing Gilberto Serna last June, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Serna was working in his front yard on the 12900 block of Sierra Avenue in Cutler when he was shot. Deputies found Serna in the road just after 9 p.m. on June 5. He was taken to a hospital where he died of his gunshot wounds.

The three suspects were arrested during “Operation Stray Bullet” in January on unrelated charges to the murder.

Detectives determined all three suspects are responsible for Serna’s murder.

Detectives said the case remains an active investigation and a motive for the shooting and/or evidence leading to the arrests will not be released.

Tulare County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information to contact 559-733-6218.
