Fresno police are investigating a hot prowl burglary in the Tower District, where the resident reported that someone entered the home and made off with two cars early Thursday.

A hot prowl crime is described as a burglary that takes place while the occupant is at home.

The Thursday incident took place in the 700 block of East Yale Avenue, near Fresno City College.

Taken in the incident were a white 2014 Chevrolet Equinox and a red 2019 Honda CRV, according to Lt. Mark Hudson.

Hudson added that according to preliminary information, an intruder made off with a purse inside the home, presumably containing keys to the vehicles.
