ShotSpotter alerts police to early morning attack. Two victims found

Two men were rushed to the hospital early Monday morning following a shooting in southeast Fresno, police reported.

Lt. Bill Dooley said the wounded men are in their 20s and in critical condition. They were found by emergency personnel on Kings Canyon Road near Winery Avenue about 2:30 a.m. The police department’s ShotSpotter system recorded six gunshots, and the victims were struck multiple times.

Dooley said the victims were not cooperating with investigators. Shell casings were found on Winery, and officers are checking to determine if the incident was recorded on any nearby cameras. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
