Shots were fired Sunday afternoon outside Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno and one person was injured, according to police.

A car pulled up on three men outside the stadium and fired several shots, according to police Sgt. Bob Reynolds. The man who was shot was hit at least three times. Reynolds said he had a wound to one of his arms and two graze marks. The man is expected to recover.

Reynolds said the victim jumped a fence and crossed a rail construction area in an attempt to get away from the shooter.

He reached the Central Fish Co. store on G and Kern streets and that’s where paramedics reached him and took him to the hospital, Reynolds said.

Police said they’re trying to find the two other men who were with the victim.

The shooting took place at about 1:36 p.m. Reynolds said investigators were contacting 911 callers to get a better description of the shooting and the shooters.
