Man killed in gang-related downtown Fresno shooting
A man who was shot and killed in a gang-related murder Wednesday night in downtown Fresno was identified by the Fresno County Coroner as Edward Contreras, 25, of Fresno.
Contreras was shot near San Pablo and McKenzie avenues about 10 p.m. Lt. Mark Salazar said Contreras, who was on parole for home invasion, was visiting friends when the shooting occurred.
Police did not have any suspects in custody.
The slaying was Fresno’s 21st this year, compared to 23 at this time in 2014.
