2,000 pounds of processed weed found at Terra Bella grow operation

Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and narcotics officers Monday detained 16 people and seized 2000 pounds of processed marijuana and 7,200 plants in Terra Bella, a spokewoman reported.

The seizure took place after the county’s gang and narcotic team served a code abatement warrant in the 24000 block of Avenue 88, Ashley Schwarm reported. Detectives arrested one felon who tried to escape while carrying a stolen handgun and also learned that among the detained were a girl, 15, and a boy, 17.

Schwarm said the suspects were tapping into a power line for lamps used in the indoor marijuana growing operation.
