A Visalia man on Monday was handed a seven-year prison sentence for domestic violence and pimping.

The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office reported that Roger Weaver, 26, pleaded guilty to multiple counts, including false imprisonment, pimping, pandering, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury and exhibiting a deadly weapon.

The conviction followed a sting operation in July 2018 at a local motel, where a victim said that she was forced to prostitute herself.

An investigation determined that the victim had been beaten by Weaver.
