Visalia police say they arrested two men who were caught with methamphetamine, other drug paraphernalia, as well as a drug-and-weapon-creating book after a traffic stop Tuesday.

Officers pulled over driver James McAllister, 41, and his passenger Rene Gonzalez, 45, around 2:10 p.m. at Santa Fe Street and Caldwell Avenue.

Gonzalez ran into a field, but officers caught up to him.

Eleven ounces of methamphetamine, a copy of “The Anarchist Cookbook,” a digital scale, two phones and a pay owe sheet was found, police say.

Officers later searched a shed rented out to McAllister, and found ammunition and other drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Both men were booked into the Tulare County Pre Trial Facility on suspicion of transporting meth and possessing meth for sales.
