A 16-year-old boy was shot multiple times at an apartment complex after getting into an altercation with three juveniles Thursday night, Fresno police said.

The teen was struck several times in his torso, and in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

Fresno police received several 911 calls around 6 p.m. regarding a shooting at the Fountain Way Apartments near the intersection of Pleasant Avenue and W. Fountain Way in central Fresno, where a victim and three Hispanic male juveniles were involved in an altercation, Lt. Bill Dooley said.

Dooley said one of the Hispanic males pulled out a firearm and shot the teenager.

Officers and paramedics arrived and found the 16-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

Police are developing leads on the suspects.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call 911 while it’s an active investigation, Lt. Dooley said.
