Suspect accused of robbing two banks. And Visalia police say he had plans to steal from more
A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday after allegedly robbing two banks in Visalia, and police say he had plans to rob at least two others.
Nathaniel Holguin allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Mooney Boulevard on March 28. Police say he handed an employee a note demanding money then fled on foot.
On Saturday, Holguin entered another Wells Fargo at 414 W. Main Street around 6 p.m. He did not conduct any business inside the bank before leaving, but someone recognized him as the March 28 robbery suspect and called police.
As officers searched the area for Holguin, he allegedly robbed the Chase Bank at 200 S. Court Street the same way the Wells Fargo had been robbed.
Officers found Holguin near Floral Street and Oak Avenue and arrested him with the help of a K9. The cash stolen from Chase and other evidence was found, police said.
Police say Holguin planned to rob the Wells Fargo on Main Street and the Central Valley Community Bank but didn’t go through with it.
He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, then booked into the Tulare County pre-trial facility on suspicion of two counts of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.
